Cookie Policy
Last updated: 27 August 2026
This page lists the cookies and browser storage this site actually sets, and what each one does.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Some sites also use local and session storage, which work similarly but stay on your device rather than being sent with every request. Both are covered here.
Strictly necessary
- Cart cookie — an HTTP-only cookie holding your cart identifier so items persist between pages and visits.
- Authentication session — set only if you sign in to an account or the admin area; keeps you signed in.
- Research-use acknowledgement — a signed cookie recording that the research-use confirmation was accepted for restricted collections, plus a matching local-storage entry so the acknowledgement persists in your browser.
- Payment resume entry — a local-storage entry holding a link back to an unfinished payment page so you do not lose a pending order.
- Navigation return point — a session-storage entry used to return you to the page you were on after a confirmation step.
These cannot be switched off; blocking them prevents the cart, sign-in and checkout from working.
Analytics
Where enabled by our hosting platform, anonymous aggregated page-view measurement may be collected. It is not used to build advertising profiles.
What we do not use
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, retargeting tags or third-party behavioural profiling on this site.
Managing cookies and storage
You can view, block and delete cookies and site data through your browser settings. Clearing site data will empty your cart, sign you out and reset the research-use acknowledgement.
